Port workers paralyze major German ports

Several major German ports, Hamburg chief among them, were hit by a port worker strike Thursday morning. The strike is set to last until Saturday morning and is due to a dispute over collective working agreements.

A number of major German ports were hit by work stoppages Thursday morning, when port workers organized in labor union ver.di commenced a 48-hour so-called ”warning strike.”
