War and inflation affected Port of Hamburg's throughput

Port of Hamburg experienced a marked drop in container throughput last year compared to the year before. The inflationary environment and the energy crisis especially made their mark on the fourth quarter results, otherwise a usual peak season.

War in the Ukraine, inflation and supply chain disruptions have all made their mark on the Port of Hamburg, which handled lower cargo volumes last year compared to 2021.
