Port of Los Angeles reports large decline in freight volumes

Negotiations over a new labor agreement and crowded inventories contributed to a significant drop in cargo volumes moving into the US through the Port of Los Angeles in April.

The major US West Coast port in Los Angeles saw a decline in container throughput of no less than 22 percent in April compared to the equivalent period last year.
