Israel closes key port and oil terminal

The Port of Ashkelon has been shut down following the outbreak of violent conflict in the region while the two ports of Haifa and Ashdod remain open.

Israel has closed the Port of Ashkelon and its oil terminal. This closure comes in relation to a rapid escalation in the conflict between Israel and the militant Palestinian group Hamas over the weekend.
