Four employees in the Maersk company, APM Terminals, have tested positive for being under the influence of euphoriant substances while at work, reports Danish daily Berlingske Business.

”We do not wish to comment on specific results of the routine checks carried out, as we do not comment on personnel matters as a matter of principle. However, it should generally be emphasized that APM Terminals has a clear zero-tolerance policy in relation to intoxicants, and any positive test will result in a termination of employment,” Maersk’s press department says to the media.

Since a number of revelations about rocker gang connections to the Port of Aarhus, Denmark -which was revealed in the summer by Danish newspaper Finans - Maersk has significantly tightened security at the port.

”In connection with our increased focus on security at the Port of Aarhus, we introduced a number of measures in early 2023, including more frequent testing for alcohol and drugs. We have continued this approach throughout the year,” Maersk told Berlingske Business.

The company will not tell Berlingske how many employees have tested positive this fall. However, the media outlet points out that according to their information, it is four employees.

Neither is it stated where the positive tests were found. Maersk uses dockworkers in the Danish cities of Aarhus and Kalundborg, and it is therefore not necessarily the much-discussed employees in Aarhus.
