European ports say Red Sea crisis is more dire than Ever Given blockade

Houthi attacks on merchant ships make this crisis more difficult to resolve than the grounding of the ship Ever Given in the 2021 Suez Canal, says ESPO.

The current and repeated drone and missile attacks on the international merchant fleet in the Red Sea may be far more difficult to resolve and overcome than when the large container ship, Ever Given, ran aground and blocked the Suez Canal in the spring of 2021., says the European Sea Ports Organization (ESPO), the trade association of the largest European ports.
