Hamburg port association chief sees MSC arrival as big opportunity

As co-owner of Hamburg’s largest port operator, MSC could be a big boost for the Port of Hamburg. But they must first win the trust of other carriers.

Klaus Michael Kühne, one of Germany’s richest business profiles with a sharp tongue, lost his temper when the world’s largest container shipping company, MSC, was allowed to buy almost half of Hamburg’s largest terminal operator, HHLA, in September last year.
