Port of Hong Kong fears losing business from new alliance

Hutchison Port Holdings Trust is concerned that the launch of Maersk’s and Hapag-Lloyd’s Gemini Cooperation will shift cargo from Hong Kong to China’s Yantian port.

The alliance shake up and formation of Gemini Cooperation between Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd could hurt volumes at Hong Kong’s major Kwai Tsing Terminal.
