APM Terminals lays off striking dockworkers

Maersk's port and terminal operator APM Terminals has laid off 130 dockworkers at a terminal in Peru where a strike has been ongoing since May 13th, reports IHS Maritime.

130 dockworkers have been fired by APM Terminals at the port operator's general cargo terminal in Callao in Peru.

Since May 13th, around 600 employees at the port have been on strike, and this past week about 130 of them were laid off, Tom Boyd, spokesperson for APM Terminals, tells IHS Maritime.
