Chinese banks said to be interested in Germany's DVB Bank

According to Reuters, two Chinese banks are eying a potential takeover of Germany's DVB Bank, which has a large portfolio of loans to shipping and offshore.

Two Chinese banks – Bank of China (BOC) and Industrial Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) – are among the candidates vying for a potential takeover of Germany's DVB Bank, sources tell news agency Reuters.

It emerged in December that the owner of DVB Bank, DZ Bank, has plans to sell the shipping and transport bank.
