Reduced impairments boosted Danish Ship Finance in 2017

Danish Ship Finance made more money in 2017, but the bank is still performing far below its past results.

Shipping bank Danish Ship Finance was sold in 2016 by the Danish National Bank, a group of Danish banks and A.P. Moeller-Maersk to a consortium consisting of equity fund Axcel and pension funds PFA and PKA. In the first fiscal year after the acquisition, the result has improved but remains well below the profits reported in past years.
