Bunker carrier Brightoil has ships arrested in Singapore

Two ships from Hong Kong-based bunker company Brightoil have been arrested in Singapore. According to a news outlet, the move is motivated by a claim from a Swiss bank.

Several tanker vessels from bunker company Brightoil were arrested between Christmas and New Year's in Singapore, shows a list from Singapore's supreme court.

Brightoil Lion was arrested on Dec. 27, while the arrest of Brightoil Grace happened a few days later on Dec. 31. Both arrests happened upon request from law firm Joseph Tan Jude Benny LLP. According to TradeWinds, court documents show that the bank Credit Suisse is behind the arrests.
