IUMI: Hull damages drop to record low

The total percentage of hull damages on ships has decreased to a record low, according to an analysis by IUMI.

Hull damages on ships have fallen to a record low, according to a new statistical analysis by the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI).

In 2013 the frequency of total losses related to damages declined to 0.13 percent measured by tonnage, and the trend of the past 15 years toward a reduced number of damages thus continued last year, in spite of a small increase in 2012.
