SeaIntel: Logistics giants miscalculated seafreight growth

2015 was a weaker year than expected for the major logistics groups, with a growth in demand of just 1.8 percent. None of the largest freight forwarders were able to increase their volumes as expected, writes SeaIntel in a new analysis.

At the beginning of 2015, the container sector's biggest freight forwarders, the big logistics companies, seemed optimistic about the possibilities for growth despite a historically weak container market, while some of the sector's key players even predicted that the market would grow by about four to five percent in line with 2014.
