DNV GL's operating result declined by 56.9 percent last year, relative to 2015. Meanwhile, the company has been reduced by 2,550 employees since its 2013 merger.

Classification and certification company DNV GL, which is the result of a merger between DNV and Germanisher Lloyd in 2013, emerged from 2016 with significantly worse numbers from operations relative to 2015.
