A new major player is emerging in the tanker market following the completion of International Seaways' take-over of carrier Diamond S Shipping. The merged company will have a fleet of more than 100 tanker vessels.

US-based tanker carriers International Seaways and Diamond S Shipping have finalized their merger, creating a new major player in the market.

International Seaways has acquired Diamond S Shipping to create a merged company with a fleet of more than 100 tanker vessels, thereby becoming the second largest tanker carrier on the New York Stock Exchange, the companies write in a press release.
