US Congress proposes zero-emission legislation for ocean vessels

The US Congress has proposed new legislation to curb emissions from ocean-going vessels. The aim is to hold the shipping industry accountable for air pollution at sea as well as in US ports.

A new bill has been introduced in the US to tackle climate change and emissions from ocean-going vessels. The bill is the first stand-alone legislation seeking to eliminate pollution from all shipping companies that do business with the US, according to a statement.
