Star Bulk slashes deficit by more than USD 30 million

Rates have been better for dry bulk carrier Star Bulk throughout 2017, and the third quarter shows growth on the top and bottom lines. However, revenue fell below analyst expectations.

Greek dry bulk carrier Star Bulk, listed in the US, emerged from the third quarter 2017 in a better state than it did last year.

Net revenue grew to USD 63 million for the carrier's vessels, relative to USD 43.7 million in the third quarter last year, while the deficit declined from USD 39.4 million to USD 7.4 million, shows the report.
