Star Bulk profitable again after major impairment

Star Bulk Carriers once again recorded black figures on its bottom line for the third quarter, after the company had to book a fleet impairment earlier this year. The majority of its ships are now equipped with scrubbers.

Greek dry bulk shipping line Star Bulk Carriers was able to return to a profit on its bottom line in the third quarter.

The profit, amounting to USD 5.8 million, comes after Star Bulk earlier this year had to book a major impairment on its fleet, with USD 30 million lost in value, contributing to a total deficit in the second quarter.
