Star Bulk reaps benefits from large scrubber program

Greek Star Bulk Carriers' major scrubber program has already given the shipping company competitive benefits, says the company's CEO in newly published financial report, in which the result was doubled. Meanwhile, the shipping company is moving its commercial activities to Singapore.

Greek dry bulk shipping company Star Bulk Carriers is already reaping the benefits of its major scrubber program.

So far, the shipping company has installed scrubbers aboard 90 vessels in its fleet, which has allowed the company to cover 72.3 percent of vessel days in the first quarter at average daily time charter rates of USD 12,580.
