Vale pulls 25 huge ships from its dry bulk fleet

Mining major Vale a few years ago deployed huge ships in the dry bulk fleet of an unprecedented size in the sector. Now the company will pull 25 of the so-called VLOCs from the market.

Brazilian mining major Vale has decided to pull 25 of its very large ore carriers, VLOCs, from the fleet.

This will be done either by terminating contracts prematurely or by changing the contracts, says Vale in its interim report.
