China pivotal if dry bulk is to recover from tough start to the year

Cleaves Securities lowers expectations for dry bulk freight rates after benchmark index falls below 1,000 points. China holds pivotal position, according to investment bank.

Earnings are subdued for dry bulk carriers and operators in the beginning of 2023, and as a result, Cleaves Securities lowers expectations to developments in freight rates for 2023, according to the Norwegian investment bank’s Shipping Weekly.
