Russia wants to end grain export deal from Ukraine
The agreement on the grain corridor, which ensured Ukrainian grain shipments from the country’s Black Sea ports, has apparently been dealt a fatal blow, writes Danish broadcaster DR, citing Reuters.
Russia has long refused to extend the agreement because it believes the agreement fails to take into account Russia’s desire to export grain and fertilizer, just as it wants its banks to be connected to the Swift payment system again.
Now, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the agreement will not be renewed.
According to the ministry, every effort will be made to ensure that the ships covered by the agreement can leave the waters before the agreement expires on July 17.
According to Russia, exports from Ukraine have been sent to countries without supply problems, while countries with real shortages in Africa, Asia and Latin America have been overlooked.
