
The demand for wood pellets will double over the next decade, according to US-based RISI, which gathers data on the global forest industry.
In a new analysis, RISI estimates that the demand for wood pellets - increasingly used by power plants - will grow from 23 million tons in 2014 to 50 million tons in 2024.
