J Poulsen steering toward German merger

Danish carrier J. Poulsen has struck a partnership with Germany’s HBC Hamburg Bulk Carriers. The deal could lead to a merger of the two companies.

Danish dry bulk carrier J. Poulsen Shipping has signed a new partnership deal with Hamburg- and Singapore-based HBC Hamburg Bulk Carriers.

The deal, set to take effect immediately, “enables the parties to jointly execute current opportunities on a short-term basis for both market and fleet activities.” On a long-term basis, the agreement between the parties may lead to a full merger, J. Poulsen writes in a press release.
