MSI: Dry bulk earnings out of carriers' hands in H1

After a somewhat solid beginning of the year, dry bulk carriers now face a more uncertain period in the short term, says Maritime Strategies International. Earnings will largely depend on factors beyond the carriers' control.

The dry bulk market experienced a much needed positive development in the final months of 2016 and into 2017 after a historically weak market which reached an all-time low with a Baltic Dry Index of 290 points on Feb. 10 last year.
