CEO has leaned down J. Lauritzen for tough years

CEO Mads P. Zacho has reduced expenses at J. Lauritzen in order to prepare the carrier for a protracted downturn on the dry bulk market. There is no need for more major cost cutting, he tells ShippingWatch.

Mads P. Zacho has kept busy ever since he took up the position as CEO of J. Lauritzen.

In recent years, the Danish carrier has lost big sums on the downturn in dry bulk and been forced to shrink costs.

3i buys AMP out of Esvagt

Private equity firm 3i, which owns half of carrier Esvagt, has agreed with the company's second owner, AMP Capital, to take over all of Esvagt for GBP 268 million, making 3i the sole owner. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.
