As part of a large-scale restructuring of the fleet after the merger with UASC, Germany's Hapag-Lloyd is now sending more vessels to be scrapped.

This concerns seven "older" container ships of 4,101 teu each, which have been sent to be scrapped in China and Turnkey, according to a statement. The yards are certified to "recycle" ships "in an environmentally friendly manner," writes Hapag-Lloyd.
