A crew member from Maersk Honam has passed away as a result of the fire that broke out on container vessel Maersk Honam in the Arabian Sea. Four members of the crew are still missing.

A crew member from Maersk Honam has now passed away due to the injuries sustained when a fire broke out on the container ship this Tuesday in the Arabian Sea, states Maersk in its latest update on the accident, which is described as escalating.

23 crew members were evacuated when the crew gave up on putting out the fire after two attempts. The ultra-large box ship is located around 900 nautical miles southeast of the city Salalah in Oman.
