Cosco's acquisition of Hong Kong carrier nears deadline

With only a few weeks left until the deadline, there is still uncertainty about US approval for Cosco's purchase of Hong Kong-based OOCL, writes Alphaliner.

There are only a few weeks remaining until the June 30 deadline for Chinese Cosco's acquisition of Hong Kong-based container carrier Orient Overseas, OOIL. However, there is still uncertainty as to whether Cosco will be able to complete its planned purchase before the deadline, writes Alphaliner in its newsletter Wednedday. The purchase price for OOCL is slightly over USD 6.2 billion.
