Damco's logistics business looks set to be merged into Maersk Line

Damco's days as an independent brand seem numbered. The process of reorganizing Maersk involves merging the logistics business, which has 10,000 employees, into Maersk Line, according to ShippingWatch's sources.

When Maersk next week presents a significant overhaul of its current structure, sources say that Damco will probably seize to exist as an independent unit as part of the shipping group's large-scale transition process.
