Maersk losing ground on the global container market

Over the past 12 months Maersk Line has lost ground on the container market according to a new report from Alphaliner. A further decline could lie ahead.

While rivals have picked up market share, Maersk Line has lost ground on the global container market, according to a new report from Alphaliner.

The analyst firm reports that Maersk Line's share of the total container market measured in capacity declined by 1.5 percent in the past year after the acquisition of German shipping line Hamburg Süd in December 2017.
