Container vessel scrapping continues at rapid pace

Shipowners are still taking their revenge after a 2018 when few container vessels reached scrapping yards. In the first two months of the year, almost half the number of container vessels were scrapped as in the full year 2018, shows a new report.

Container vessel scrapping hit a seven-year low last year, but at the end of the year things began to improve slightly, while in January 2019 scrapping activity started to really speed up.
