Higher transport need strains shipping's climate targets

A three-fold increase in the need for transport ahead of 2050, as projected by OECD, will put the shipping industry's climate targets under severe pressure, project manager for ports and shipping at OECD tells ShippingWatch.

The global need to transport goods looks set to triple ahead of 2050, and this should make the shipping industry work to as quickly as possible implement methods to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, says OECD Project Manager for Ports and Shipping Olaf Merk.
