This is why HMM decided to end its partnership with Maersk and MSC

There was one reason in particular that Maersk and MSC's South Korean partner HMM decided to break away from the two liner majors' 2M alliance to instead join forces with competitors such as Hapag-Lloyd in The Alliance, according to a statement from HMM to ShippingWatch.

In some ways it was in the cards, since the partnership between the 2M liner companies Maersk and MSC and South Korean HMM was established in December 2016, that this was an agreement that would not necessarily run its full term.
