Growth in the lucrative reefer business has made Hapag-Lloyd expand its fleet with five 8,827-teu container ships chartered from Costamare, the shipping line confirms to ShippingWatch.

The ships are built to hold a large number of reefer containers, as they have 1,450 reefer plugs each, and they will be deployed on the routes from South America to Europe and South America to the Far East.
