Acquisition and new ships boost Seaspan's revenue

The acquisition of GCI and the delivery of newbuilds impacted Seaspan's revenue, which grew 10 percent in the first half of the year. For the first six months, the shipowners earnings more than doubled due to a changed charter arrangement – but in the second quarter alone, the company's top and bottom line decreased.

Seaspan finished the first half of the year with a somewhat better result in the same period the year before.

The company's earnings grew from almost USD 136 million in the first half of 2018 to slightly more than USD 325 this year, and revenue also grew by more than 10 percent, according to Seaspan's interim report.
