Scrubber installations and voided sailings yield more idle ships

Voided sailings and scrubber retrofits contribute to increasing the number of container ships out of work, writes Alphaliner. The number is expected to rise further in the coming month.

The number of idle container vessels has now reached 148, analyst firm Alphaliner writes in its latest newsletter.

This corresponds to 641,259 teu not being used, representing 2.8 percent of the total container fleet.

Alphaliner: HMM set to go private in 2022
