Seaspan buys six ships and nears one million teu

Shipowner Seaspan buys several container ships in USD 380 million deal. With this takeover, the company almost has a fleet of 1 million teu.

After its purchase of six container ships, Seaspan's fleet is nearing a capacity of 1 million teu.

The shipowner has signed a deal with an unnamed seller to acquire six ships for around USD 380 million. The deal is expected to close in December and is subject to customary closing conditions, according to a press release.
