Brazilian police reportedly raided former Maersk exec's home

A former Maersk executive has had his home raided by Brazilian police in a case where the company is under suspicion of having bribed its way to contracts with oil firm Petrobras, newspaper writes.

A former Danish Maersk executive has had his home raided by the Brazilian police in a case where the shipping line is under suspicion of having bribed its way to contracts with Brazilian oil company Petrobras, writes Danish newspaper Berlingske Business.

The former executive has not been charged in the case, but Brazil's prosecution authority holds that he has been party to bribing a top executive at Petrobras by way of a shipbroker hired by Maersk.

3i buys AMP out of Esvagt

Private equity firm 3i, which owns half of carrier Esvagt, has agreed with the company's second owner, AMP Capital, to take over all of Esvagt for GBP 268 million, making 3i the sole owner. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.
