Several of the world's biggest container shipping lines have introduced surcharges on transport of reefer containers to the Chinese mainland, as the coronavirus outbreak has prolonged the Chinese New Year and created problems in several ports.

The coronavirus outbreak makes several of the world's largest container shipping lines raise their surcharge on reefer containers to the Chinese mainland.

This is because the outbreak has prolonged the Chinese New Year, which in turn has increased the shipping lines' costs related to reefer transports. And the prolonged holiday has also put pressure on the number of electricity plugs for reefer containers.
