Greek shipowner Danaos, which charters ships to container lines such as CMA CGM, HMM and ZIM, has benefited from the strong container market.

When the coronavirus crisis erupted, many stakeholders feared that demand for container shipping would collapse. Shipping companies thus began blanking sailings, which kept rates up during the initial shutdown of the global economy.
