Container freight rates continue upward at slightly slower pace

The combined SCFI index surged 4.3 percent, thereby halving the increase rate from last week. On the major tradelanes between Asia and Europe, where Maersk and MSC dominate, the price rose by 6 percent.

Rates on freighting containers from China to the rest of the world keep surging for the tenth consecutive week, once again with European routes at the top, according to the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI).
