Container volumes almost fully recovered despite large drop in the spring of 2020

The dramatic plunge in container volumes of 7.3 percent in the first five months of 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic was almost regained in the rest of the year, shows a Bimco analysis.

Following a severe drop in cargo volumes carried by container ships in early 2020, the sector recorded significant growth in the rest of the year, shows an analysis from shipping association Bimco.
