Seaspan expands fleet with order for two container newbuilds

The world's largest shipowner, Seaspan Corporation, has ordered two new container ships with a capacity of 24,000 teu apiece. The ships are chartered out to a container line on 18-year contracts.

Seaspan has signed a deal for new container ships, which have already been chartered out to an unnamed container line on 18-year contracts, says the company in a press release.
