Maersk aims to operate carbon neutral ship by 2023

A.P. Moeller-Maersk sets its sights on 2023, when the shipping company now plans to operate a carbon neutral container ship of 2,000 teu. The ship will sail on green methanol.

Just two years from now, A.P. Moeller-Maersk plans to launch and operate what it describes as the world's first carbon neutral container ship.

The ship will be  around 2,000 teu and is planned to sail on green methanol, says the company in a press release Wednesday. The ship will operate in regional liner shipping.
