Maersk Container Industry expands order backlog in the first quarter

Revenue grew in the first quarter at Maersk Container Industry, which reports of growing demand from customers outside the Maersk Group. CEO Sean Fitzgerald told ShippingWatch about the strong start to the year in an interview in March.

Maersk Container Industry reports of an increase in activity in the first quarter of the year, in which nearly half of revenue was achieved based on customers outside the large shipping group.

The group's container factory, which now only produces refrigerated containers following a large-scale transformation, thus saw its revenue increase to USD 199 million in the first quarter from USD 124 million in the same period last year.
