Bottlenecks from Yantian make ONE put surcharge on reefer containers

Container line ONE is introducing a fee on reefer containers going to major Chinese port Yantian, where a Covid-19 outbreak has resulted in bottlenecks and significant delays.

Japanese ONE is the first container carrier to impose a specific surcharge on reefer containers passing through major port Yantian in South China, where a Covid-19 outbreak has resulted in a partial shutdown.

In an update, ONE advises its customers to redirect cargo where possible to circumvent the Chinese port, which otherwise is crucial to global trade but now fraught with bottlenecks and large delays.
