
As the shipping sector approaches the peak season for container traffic in the third quarter, carriers plan to deploy record high capacity this year, according to an analysis from Sea-Intelligence.
Over the next 12 months, the analysis estimates, container carriers plan to deploy an additional approx. 100,000 teu, pushing the total offered capacity in the Pacific Ocean to a peak of 644,000 teu in the week starting on August 16.
