Chaotic container market sees new carriers enter the scene

The overheated container market has brought on new independent carriers in the trade between Asia and the US west coast, where around a third of the services are handled by carriers outside the three major alliances.

The strong container market, particularly booming on routes between Asia and the US, has brought on new independent carriers as well as an upturn for carriers outside the alliances.

According to Sea-Intelligence, around a third of the offered services between Asia and the US west coast are handled by independent carriers – that is, carriers outside the three major global alliances.
